ABOUT YOGA
AND MEDITATION
Yoga Citta Vritti Nerodha is the third verse in the ancient scripture of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. The sentence roughly translates as "Yoga stops the fluctuations of the mind". The path to a calm mind can look in different ways, because we humans are different and have different needs. The yoga system aims to take care of all layers of ourselves. Our everyday life, through ethical recommendations, the physical body through so-called Yoga Asanas, our experience of our energy system through Pranayama, our mental world through focus exercises, and finally, or in parts, to land in meditation. The philosophy of yoga consists of different systems and directions, but what they have in common is that they function as recommendations and there is nothing dogmatic here. Yoga encourages self-contemplation, and to "awaken" the individual from ignorance and to love and feel togetherness with everything else that lives. Yoga has traditionally been practiced together with Ayurveda, the thousand-year-old Indian healing system that is based on the completely unique needs of each individual. This means that you are welcome to yoga just as you are, on your own conditions. And because we are different, we offer a variety of different types of classes. If you want to delve deeper into other parts of the yoga system, you are welcome to join one of our courses or workshops. Welcome.

HATHA
DYNAMIC CLASS & A GOOD START
Hatha is actually the foundation of all physical yoga, so-called yoga asanas. The class includes sun salutations, standing poses, balances, forward bends, seated poses, backbends and rotations. The poses are held a little longer and you have plenty of time to find your way in. Hatha provides a good foundation for those who are new to yoga. For those with experience, there is a good opportunity to deepen your practice. Hatha does not follow a given series, but the teacher puts together a class to fit a theme. You will sweat. You will receive verbal and physical assistance. Always ends in Shavasana or meditation.
YIN & MEDITATION
OBSERVE AND STILL YOUR MIND
This class begins with about 60 minutes of Yin Yoga practice, from which it transitions into an even more refined stilling of the mind through one or more selected meditation techniques. The class can include everything from pranayama (breathing exercises) to chanting and focus exercises. The class is just as suitable for those who are new to meditation as for those with more experience.
Can be started with a pulse-raising shaking meditation.
ASANA LAB
TECHNIQUE AND IMMERSION
In this class you will have the opportunity to delve deeper into yoga asanas, physical positions, in a way that is not always possible in a regular class. The class is like a "mini workshop" where we look closer at a few selected poses and immerse into technique and alignment. The class gives you a greater understanding of the structure and purpose of different asanas, and gives you tools to take with you into your yoga practice.
VINYASA
PHYSICALLY & MENTALLY CHALLENGING CLASS
The movements in Hatha are woven together in a playful and powerful flow. You will get sweaty, challenged and should have practiced Hatha for a while so you have a basic understanding of the different poses. Vinyasa means moving in time with the breath. Often with a theme from yoga philosophy and to great music. The teacher puts together a sequence that differs from class to class. Inversions and balances occur. You receive verbal and physical assistance. Always ends in Shavasana or in meditation.
YINYOGA
FASCIA AND CHALLENGING STILLNESS
A restful, therapeutic form of yoga that is based on calming the nervous system and allowing the body, or more specifically the connective tissue (fascia), to let go at its own pace. The poses are often performed sitting or lying down and are held for several minutes. A meditative state often occurs. During a yin session, the body, nervous system and mind recover and you leave it focused, vitalized and recovered.
Can be started with a pulse-raising shaking meditation.
EMBODIED FLOW
PRESENCE THROUGH MOVEMENT
MUSCLES & FASCIA. FOCUS & MEDITATION
For those who want the best of both worlds. A playful class where you move between two extremes such as the powerful, sweaty, focused Vinyasa and the quiet Yinyoga. You get to use strength and focus and then half to let go and soften in silence. Chanting, pranayama and meditation may occur.
RESTORATIVE
DEEP REST & RECOVERY
Restorative yoga is based on recovery and reconstruction. The practice consists of stillness, silence and rest. With the help of resting yoga poses, we create conditions for the body, nervous system and mind to unwind. In the restorative poses you rest with the help of bolsters, blocks and blankets. When the body feels held and supported, relaxation can occur. The nervous system trusts that it can completely relax and then a deep relaxation of the body and mind follows. In a restorative class, it is common for you to fall into a state just before falling sleep. The state where we really recharge our batteries and recover.
Can be started with a pulse-raising shaking meditation.
