We welcome you to a generous introduction to yoga. This course is perfect for you who are new yoga, or who have been going to classes, but want to get a wider foundation or ”fill in the blanks”. Why is yoga useful in our daily lives?
After this course you will definetley feel ready to attend most of the open classes on the schedule. The course can either be attended by you who are completley new to yoga, you who have a yoga practice, but want a more solid base or for you who are curious about starting a yoga teacher training and want more basics.
In this course you will get together for 6 Saturdays to become more familiar with:
Basic philosophy such as Patanjali
Some Yoga Sutras
What is Prana?
What is Ujjayi and Pranayama?
The Chakra System
Sun Salutations and Basic Yogapositions
Every class will contain about 30 mins of introduction to the subject, discussion, and about 60 mins of physical yoga practice.
The course will be taught in English.
We will allow no more than 12 participants.
I have practiced yoga since 2001 and began teaching full time in 2009. My yoga journey, like my life, has been varied and international. Through the ups and downs of life, my mat has become a home of sorts over the years. And this is for me what yoga can be, a coming home to ourselves, be it through asana, pranayama, and/or meditation. It is a reminding, a remembering, a homecoming to a sense of oneness so that off our mats we can use these tools to live our lives in all its wondrous diversity.
